Scientific Collaborators

Business Team

Enrique Wagemann

Enrique Wagemann is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Universidad de Concepción, Chile. He was previously a post-doctoral fellow at the Micro & Nano-scale Transport Laboratory, University of Waterloo.

Scott Retterer

Scott Retterer is a senior staff scientist in the Biosciences and Center for Nanoscale Materials Sciences Divisions at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. His work focuses on the development of material interfaces that can be used to shape soft materials and biological systems with an emphasis on understanding the
effects of nanoscale structure, molecular transport, and chemical patterning on material formation and biological processes.

Raymond Unocic

Raymond Unocic is a Senior R&D Staff Scientist, Group Leader of the Materials MicroAnalysis group, and Directed Nanoscale Transformations Theme Science Leader at the Center for Nanophase Materials Sciences. His research expertise is focused on the development and application of advanced in-situ characterization methods and also the utilization of aberration-corrected STEM/EELS/EDS to probe the atomic-scaled structure, chemistry, and defects of materials to elucidate nanomaterial functionality.

Director, Founder, and CEO

Sushanta Mitra

Sushanta Mitra is the Executive Director of the Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology and a Professor in Mechanical & Mechatronics Engineering, University of Waterloo. He has made outstanding contributions to the theoretical understanding of microfluidics and nanofluidics pertinent to flows of liquids and ions. These have led to groundbreaking discoveries of under-liquid wetting relevant to materials discovery. The innovative applications of his research for energy, water, and health have profound impact in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, increased access to clean water, and rapid disease monitoring for improved health outcomes.

Na Young Kim

Na Young Kim is a faculty member at the Institute of Quantum Computing and an Associate Professor in Electrical & Computer Engineering, University of Waterloo. She leads the Quantum Innovation (QuIN) Laboratory, aiming to build large-scale quantum processors based on novel materials and advanced technologies.

Scott Inwood

Scott Inwood is the Director of Commercialization at WatCo, University of Waterloo.

Khosrow Modarressi

Khosrow Modarressi is the Technology Transfer Manager at WatCo, University of Waterloo.
